At the heart of everything David does is family. He and his wife are blessed with five sons and seven grandchildren. Being a husband, father and grandfather has shaped his belief in the importance of building a community where families can live, work, raise their children and build a future they are proud of.

David has spent his life as a hardworking, blue-collar worker. He understands the value of showing up, doing the job right and being accountable for the work you have been trusted to do.

Experience in Local Government

David's commitment to Decatur did not begin when he became Mayor.

Before serving as Mayor, David served the community as an alderman, giving him experience on both the legislative and executive sides of municipal government.

That experience has given David a firsthand understanding of how city government operates and the responsibility that comes with making decisions that directly affect residents and businesses.
